So it has taken me a bit over a week to catch my breath from the big move and the start of a new job. Two weekends ago, my parents and I loaded up another truck full of essential stuff and headed to Sheboygan for my move. We had great weather for travel and were able to enjoy a few days together before they headed on to visit my family out in the Minneapolis area.
So far I have been crazy busy on the job. While I am doing much of the same type of activity as my previous job, I am also a part of the management strategy team. This is pretty cool experience and it kind of makes me yearn a bit for the MBA that I never got.
The engineering building that we work in is pretty neat. While you can never get away from the cubicle in an office setting, the cubicles we have just seem cooler than normal. I also like the fact that there are kitchenettes in each group area that are available. They include fridges, microwaves, sinks, pizza cookers, and just about whatever you want to bring in. The heated toilet seats were also a pleasant surprise.
As for our after work activities.......we have been keeping busy in a scaled down fashion. One of the highlights of this past weekend was trying out a new restaurant with one of Joe's co-workers and his wife. The food was really good, atmosphere great, and prices fair--what more could you ask for. See site below if you want to check it out.

Last night Joe and I visited the Kohler Art Center to watch and indy film called King Corn. It was a fairly well done documentary on the life of corn. Sounds kind of bland, but it was actually quite thought provoking. It will be shown on PBS in the coming weeks. I would recommend that you check it out. Here is a link to the site.

Well it is getting to be that time. Hope you have a great Easter weekend!
