The Lake Is Freezing!

Happy Saturday, everyone. Allison is once again visiting me this weekend (woohoo!). Monday is a holiday at Chrysler, so she's spending the time here with me for the long weekend. :) At the moment, she is passed out on the couch, so I decided I'd jump on the blog for a couple minutes.

It's pretty freaking cold out (-1). It should make for an entertaining NFC Championship game in Green Bay tomorrow. If you missed the game last week, check out this picture. Brrr! It's so cold, that Lake Michigan is starting to freeze along the coast. I took some pictures and posted them on my Flickr account. It's times like these I am really anticipating our trip to Jamaica at the end of February.

Class started last week for me. I'm taking Design and Analysis of Experiments as a distance learning class from University of Michigan. If everything goes as planned, I will be able to complete my degree this year without having to physically attend class in a classroom. I have distance classes lined up at University of Michigan and Texas A&M. As long as I get those approved through Oakland University, I can take those classes over the internet and transfer them back to OU to graduate. I will still be 2 credits shy from graduating, so I'm trying to sell my advisor on letting me take a Intro to Conversational Chinese for Business as an independent study. I will be going to China 2-3 times this year, so I think the class would immediately benefit me. We'll see what OU says.

I will be back in Michigan on the weekend of February 1. University of Michigan has an engineering fair on January 31, and I will be supporting the fair along with some coworkers at the Kohler Co. booth. I was already planning on going to Michigan at the end of the month to meet my niece, Natalie, visit with my family, and celebrate Allison's birthday. Things worked out nicely, and I will take a vacation day on February 1 so I can spend some time with my family while I am in Michigan.

And I'm spent. I think I'm going to go wake up Allison now. Actually, maybe I'll just take a nap too.

  1. Very interesting Joe with your schooling. The Lake looks a little different from the last time I saw it. Stay warm, it is a little warmer I mean it is not as cold here. You got us beat and that is OK.
