I dropped Allison off at the Milwaukee airport a couple hours ago, which means I finally have some time to do some blogging again!
Allison has been in Sheboygan since January 2 through today. This has been her longest trip and it was really nice. One of the highlights of her trip was a 2.5 hour road trip to Chicago yesterday to pick up some much needed furniture. Since Allison's successful decorating of my Mount Clemens condo last year, I figured I just just stay out of the way and let her do her thing this time. Goodbye, beach chairs. Hello, love seat! I am truly stylin' now. I wanted to do a quick video, but Allison made me promise to wait until our bright green curtains are hung. Oh yeah - bright green. We'll be sporting the Richmond Cross Country color on our wall. Ryan would be proud.
The other big news...ok, the BIGGEST news is that my sister had her baby on January 4! Natalie Lyn Rhoads-Blake was born 7lbs 15oz and 22 inches long. It was really tough not to be there for all the excitement. But if Amber had pushed things just 5 days earlier...Allison is coming back to Wisconsin in 12 days because she has a 3 day weekend for Martin Luther King, Jr. day, so I will be traveling back to Michigan the end of January to see my new niece! Amber and Jameson are both doing well. Amber is scheduled to come home tomorrow evening, so please keep the entire family in your prayers.
I'm also trying 1 last big push to sell my Mount Clemens condo by owner. Anybody who is reading this probably got my email, but I'll say it once more just in case: $80,000 unfurnished, $82,500 furnished. It is in Mount Clemens, just off of Groespeck and Hall Road. Approximately 1200 sq ft. 2 bed/2 bath. $2,000 FINDERS FEE!!!. Offer expires at the end of the month. Then I will be biting the bullet and relisting it with a new realtor (My realtor at Century 21 was just horrible).
I also had a horrible realization when I was home for Christmas that I had hit my upper weight limit (210 lbs) that I had set for myself. The time is now to buckle down and get myself back to my target weight of 180lbs. Tomorrow I start the South Beach diet. I've heard a lot of good things and read the book when I was home for Christmas. Lets see if this thing really does the trick. Allison and I cooked for about 2 hours and premade a majority of my meals for the next 2 weeks. My ankle is about 80%, so it's back to the gym for me too. We'll see what happens.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention our breakfast experience this morning. Allison has previously gone to the Wisconsin Room, which is a restaurant in the American Club, which is owned by Kohler. We were going to go and get some special oatmeal that Allison recommended. Well, we get there and it looks like they only had the breakfast buffet this morning. Which is fine by me - last day before a diet, I was going to fill up! However, when the waitress came by and offered us complimentary champagne, alarm bells went off. Champagne? For breakfast??? O----KAY...Then I proceed up to the buffet, and besides the omelette & pancake bar, there was an entire table of seafood. We're talking all kinds of smoked fish, crab legs, and neon green balls that I assume were caviar. Needless to say, I was taken a little aback, and it wasn't quite my style. I was really afraid we were at a $50/person buffet. Fortunately, it was only half that. Still pretty expensive for a breakfast buffet, but it was excellent food, if you're into Champagne, Caviar, and Crab Legs for breakfast.
champagne for breakfast= excellent.
ReplyDeleteseafood? ick no thanks.
also a good diet i've heard about (and make sense)-- and i think its more of a lifestyle than a diet-- are portion pals. they just visually show you how much you should be eating. www.portionpal.com :) good luck!
