The title of this post says it all. I forgot to put stupid change in the meter when a group from work went to lunch. Oh well - first time for everything. At least it was only $9.00.
So question of the day: have you ever had a parking ticket? How much did it set you back?

The Secret to Softball
What if I told you that I had the secret to softball? What if I could guarantee you to be able to hit like Sammy Sosa whenever you stepped up to the plate? What would you be willing to give for such a secret? $10? $20? What about embarrassing yourself?
Well, my friends, I have the secret. Today, after a quick dose of "secret sauce", I was able to crank 2 homeruns. The stuff works. Want to know what it is? For only $5.99, you too can hit like Joe Blake hit tonight.
The secret: eat Taco Bell 30 minutes before the game.
The cost: explosive diarrhea and embarrassment.
Fortunately, after my first homerun of the game, I was able to immediately run to the bathroom after crossing home to avoid any public explosion. Ever the lucky man, I made it to a bathroom.
So there you have it - the secret to softball. Are you willing to pay the price?
(Now Christian and Alyssa, I know you are reading this. You better not run around the house talking about diarrhea. Your parents would n0t be too happy with me. You've been warned!)

Googling Yourself
It is always fun to take a minute and google yourself just to see what comes up when searching your name. When I search for Allison Guetzkow, I usually find some basic stuff related to sports. But, last week I came across a more interesting find when googling my name. You see, as part of my undergraduate thesis Delphi filed a patent on a door latch design that I developed. I eagerly waited news on the status of the patent application for several years. After about 5 years of waiting, I figured that the idea was not patentable.
But to my surprise, when I googled my name last week I found the following news.

Quick July 4 Update
We had a wonderful and beautiful 4th of July weekend here in Sheboygan. Dan and James came to visit, and we are worn out - so no long blog post tonight. But I did put together a fun video showing our charter fishing adventure and posted our pictures on Flickr. Click HERE to check those photos out - but remember you have to be signed in and my friend on Flickr to see most of the photos.
